San Lorenzo
Is a summer village 10 kilometres away from Salta, known for
its cool weather, luxuriant vegetation and fresh streams. Its hills have a
wide variety of flora and fauna. All year round is a favourite spot for
trekking, horse ridings, cycling, four wheel ridings and photo safaris. In
San Lorenzo you can stay in its “hosterias” or farm houses, with lovely
gardens. It’s the ideal place to be near the city but in a quiet and natural
environment.
Vaqueros
Despite the proximity to the City of Salta this village distinguishes
for its quiet and rural life. Local artists work leather,
wool and clay to produce beautiful objects and their work places
can be visit in the Artisan’s Path.
La Caldera
This typical village, 22 kilometres away from the
City, has some examples of very well preserved 19th century
architecture. Surrounded by green lush hills, it has an
18 metres Christ that is the hallmark of the town, surrounded
by a wild and green vegetation. Nearby the
Campo Alegre dam is special to enjoy water sports or
fishing.
Campo Quijano
Is called “the Gate to the
Andes”, because is situated in the entrance of
the Quebrada del Toro and its breathtaking
landscape. Nearby there is the Las
Lomitas Dam, special for the summer
