The wine trails

Few wine trails have the beauty and strength of a natural landscape, the shapes and colors of its mountains, a rich history and the presence of millenary customs. In the Calchaqui Valleys, wine tourism harmonizes with other proposals such as ecotourism, cultural tourism and adventure tourism.

Native gastronomy with Andean or creole recipes (tamales, sweet tamales, locro, pies) is a characteristic icon in the region, among other new wine flavors like hand-made icecreams made from Torrontés or Cabernet.

Accommodation availability is high quality in hostels, rural farms, or wineries that feature exclusive hotels in their vineyards. Another distinctive service is wine-therapy, with new treatments based on wine in modern spas.

Besides tours and guided wine-tasting in wineries, special activities are added such as harvest programs. In March, communal harvest in Finca Las Nubes is already a classical event. The Wine Museum can also be visited in Cafayate, which keeps the wine-making history of the region and which will soon be renewed.
