 • 55% of the hectares in Salta are grown with red varietals. • 99% of the total vineyard area produces grapes allocated to fine wines, unique index in the country. • 70% of the vineyards from all the Calchaquí Valley are concentrated in Cafayate. • Currently 1,200,000 bottles of Premium wine are exported from Salta to 30 countries worldwide, and though Salta ´s participation in the national production is 1 %, the presence of wines from the Calchaquí Valley has been strong as regards exports, with 15 % of the total volume sent to the international market. • Over the last years the Argentine wine-making industry has received direct private investments in as much as U$S 1,000 million. From this amount, more than 10 % has been allocated to the industry in the Province of Salta. |
